Position: Research assistant

Position Summary:

Perform a variety of duties to facilitate research and teaching through Rashtram’s Centre for Wellbeing and Wellness.

Team Overview:

This research assistant role is attached to Rashtram’s Centre for Wellbeing and Wellness, but it is part of the larger academic team at Rashtram that consists of professors, mentors, scholars, and research associates from other centres or departments.

 Skills and Competencies: 

  1. Excellent reading skills in English and well-articulated written English, across the genres of academic as well as non-academic writing   
  2. Familiarity and comfort with written Hindi and/or Sanskrit
  3. Editing and proofreading skills for academic papers, reviews and non-academic articles (English and at least one other Indic language).
  4. Familiarity with various research methodologies in humanities and social sciences 
  5. Should be comfortable with using MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint, Google doc/sheet/slides; Gmail, Google Meet

Work Performed:

  1. Carry out in-depth research and analysis in the fields of Ayurveda, Yoga and Indian Knowledge systems, interconnect them with contemporary practices of Wellbeing and Psychology.
  2. Reading selected titles, papers, books, articles etc. and writing summaries or analyses of topics as per requirement 
  3. Proofreading and editing research papers and non-academic articles   
  4. Reviewing teaching methodologies and ICT platforms for humanities and social sciences disciplines 
  5. Writing academic papers, non-academic articles, book/paper reviews
  6. Should be able to assist faculty in research, writing and preparing course materials and planning, organization and management of events.
  7. Coordinating and organising conferences.  

Minimum Qualifications: 

MA in any Humanities and/or Social Sciences Discipline. 

Individuals from Psychology or allied fields welcomed. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Those who are either pursuing or have completed a research degree (MPhil/Ph.D.) in psychology/ applied psychology/ philosophy/ comparative literature/ sociology will be given preference.

Location: Rishihood Campus, Sonipat, Haryana 

Nature of Role: Contractual, Initial period of 1 year and extendable based on mutual agreement

Reporting to: Dr. Mala Kapadia, Professor and Director Centre for Wellbeing and Wellness
