JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This is an exciting and demanding role for a developmental professional who aspires to build expertise in leadership programmes with survivors of violence.
  • It would be most suited to young professionals who are conceptually clear about rights-based approaches.
  • Reporting to Kamonohashi India Program Director, S/he will be responsible for programme monitoring and reporting on output and LFA, MIS management, coordination with project partners, survivors’ collectives - help them in monitoring their own activities; engaging with them directly at the field level, researchers, and technical consultants who are partners in the programme.
  • S/he will be supported by a team of Finance Manager, MIS consultant, HR Manager, and Communications Manager, and must be skilled in managing clear and precise communications with internal and external stakeholders. S/he will be required to travel within India, as per requirement, post COVID 19 crisis, and must be skilled in using technology thoroughly and creatively to meet communication demands

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Partnership Co-ordination

(1) Building relationships of trust, transparency and mutuality with survivors’ collectives and their leaders

(2) Build supportive relationships with grassroots NGOs who are partners in the programme;

(3) Build collaborative relationships with other officers of the programme in Kamo and colleagues of other programmes in Kamonohashi Project;

(4) Build robust partnerships with technical partners and consultants of the project.

(5) Co-ordinate among the survivor collectives (SCs) and mentoring NGOs(MOs) for programme monitoring by PM as well as for facilitating SCs and MOs for movement building

Project Management:

(1) Support survivors’ collectives and their leadership to build project management tools and documents, for them to monitor and report on their projects effectively;

(2) Support partner organisations (NGOs) to develop project documents and tools for effective roletaking, particularly focusing on planning, monitoring, and reporting;

(3) Review, clarify and consolidate reports from survivors’ collectives and partner organisations to build consolidated programme reports for Kamonohashi and co-financiers of the programme;

(4) Monitor projects (including field level monitoring) of all SCs and MOs to check outcome and support Programme Manager to link them up for programme monitoring;

(5) Document good practices and create knowledge projects and share with the consortium;

(6) Collaborate with finance managers of the programme to check efficiency of approaches and strategies and use it for feedback to partner organisations;

(7) Ensure alignment between the programme and the communication portfolio.

Manage short-term consultancy projects:

(1) Help to commission/manage programme evaluations, research, IEC developments, policy engagements, coaching kind of short-term projects by independent research institutions/consultants and ensure necessary support to facilitate action.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification:

(1) Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree with 4-7 years working experience in Rights-Based Programmes or Youth Leadership Programme;

Experience, Skills and Competencies:

(1) Understanding and experience of Result-Based-Management approach program monitoring, and reporting is mandatory;

(2) Expertise in proposal analysis and knowledge of LFAs and project budget management is mandatory;

(3) Must have robust understanding and experience in working with a consortium;

(4) Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision;

(5) Must have basic research (qualitative, quantitative techniques in research), facilitation and interviewing skills;

(6) Earlier Experience of working for youth leadership programme would be an asset;

(7) Experience in managing databases and information systems;

(8) Listening skills, ability to work with differences of opinion, perspectives, and ideologies;

(9) Ability to identify problems, propose solutions and take immediate corrective measures;

(10) Must have analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.

COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for this position, at the time of joining, would be in the range of Rs. 50,000/- to Rs. 60,000/- per month subject to withholding Taxes, as applicable.
