Position: Communication Officer

Organization: CSP

The roles and responsibilities of the Communications Officer:

  • Hold a central role in contributing to development of CSP’s thinking on strategic communications and development of its approach and strategy including advising on communications approaches and processes.
  • Work with the CSP team in designing and implementing policies and systems relating to communications content production and quality control.
  • Take a leading role in managing CSP’s online profile including its website and social media engagement.
  • Create engaging and creative content for the CSP website, social media profiles as well as for other news outlets targeting various audiences.
  • Ensure that communications outputs comply with our CSP identity and quality standards, including manage and update our digital identity templates.
  • Support production of publications including editing, lay-out and production of basic graphic design content.
  • Coordinate communications planning and delivery of launch of publications, initiatives and external events, including leading dissemination, drafting key messages for use on social media and designing graphics, videos and other social media content as relevant.
  • Liaise with external consultants, including editors, translators, graphic designers, printers, photographers, etc.
  • Manage and further develop the CSP membership base and ensure consistent communication with CPS’s members including newsletter planning and delivery.
  • Support day-to-day administrative and coordination tasks as reasonably required.

Qualifications and Personal Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate complex issues clearly and creatively to various audiences.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with a variety of social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in WordPress and Mailchimp.
  • Experience in using photo and video in communication. Proficiency in design software (E.g. Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and video editing.
  • Innovative and interested in creative communications.
  • Proven experience in creating high-quality communications products.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Proficiency in Danish is preferable and proficiency in Spanish, French or Arabic would be an advantage.
  • Excitement towards working in a small team of deeply committed, experienced, multi-national, and mostly young persons with a mission and high standard of professional engagement.
  • Openness to working as a full team member who takes on a variety of tasks, including logistics and administration in relation to concrete activities and in preparing meetings and other activities.
  • An interest in peacebuilding and development.
