Overview of the course

The department of Preventive and Social Medicine, JIPMER is committed to academic excellence and inculcating the philosophy of medical research among health professionals. One of the goals of the department is to improve the health of the community by sharing and imparting knowledge and expertise in Epidemiology. This workshop spans over five days, covering study designs and statistical tests along with SPSS demonstration.

Objectives of the Course:

At the end of the course the participants will be able to,

• Apply the basic principles of epidemiology in planning and conducting research.

• Interpret and evaluate the research published in scientific journals.

Who can participate?

Faculty, postgraduate students and PhD scholars in medical colleges and research institutes. Candidates should have laptops with Windows (version XP and above) and SPSS.
