Position Summary:

IIC teams have worked in a range of sectors, including urban development, gender, education, energy & environment, healthcare, and water & sanitation. Functionally, the IIC works on large-scale project management, organizational strengthening and capacity building, and data and policy analytics. We are seeking to hire an experienced candidate for the position of Project
Associate to work within a team functioning as the Project Management Unit with the National Institute of Urban Affairs, under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The Project Associate would be responsible for engaging with diverse stakeholders, identifying priority work areas, following up and executing commitments and deliverables to generate desired project outcomes.
Project Associates are dynamic leaders who are passionate about making a difference, possess exceptional problem-solving skills, and thrive in an entrepreneurial setting.Project Associates, in close collaboration with Project Leads, oversee all aspects of client engagements in order to produce high-quality deliverables to drive each project to achieve its golas

Key Responsibilities:

Members of the IIC team are expected to develop and maintain positive stakeholder relations; collaborate on program design and project management; conduct research and perform quantitative and qualitative analysis; and provide advisory support to senior government


1: Stakeholders Management:
• Establishing relationships with key stakeholders across the system to institute strong
governance structures
• Regular coordination with different stakeholders (government stakeholders, implementation
partners, funders etc.) through update meetings


2: Project Management:
• Creating overall strategy, design, deliverables and work plans for project implementation
• Ensuring timely implementation of the designed intervention
• Frequent outcome tracking and course-correction, if needed
Advancing the Discourse:
• Identifying global best practices and research to feed into critical thinking for the
domestic market
• Conceptualize events and round tables to drive discourse on identified project theme(s)
• Contribute by writing opinion editorials or blog posts around identified project theme(s)

3: Qualifications:
• The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver who is motivated, passionate, entrepreneurial,
self- sustaining, driven by a desire to make the world a better place, and excited to help
build and shape the IIC initiative into a platform for matching human resources with social and
development problems being tackled by the Indian government.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience in one or more of the following areas: Management/
strategy/development consulting or Public service with a government or quasi-government
body as a project manager, young professional, or fellow or Project management or
implementation roles with multilaterals, international development institutions or strategic
philanthropy firms or Product management experience with a major tech company or a
prominent startup
• Data science or advanced data analytics with private/public organizations
• Strong program design and program management skills
• Experience in multi-stakeholder management
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills, proven ability to conduct research and data
analysis (qualitative and quantitative), and present findings to senior stakeholders
• Self-starter who will thrive in a start-up setting by taking ownership and initiative
