Job Title Senior Manager- Research
Job Location Mumbai/Pune, Maharashtra
Job Summary

We are looking for an innovative individual with a demonstrated track record of working collaboratively in multi-input development programmes.
The role requires prior exposure to and experience with working on social mobilization, economic participation, and community strengthening
projects. The candidate is required to manage/execute research assignments being implemented in Maharashtra.
Candidates with a personal commitment to development and to fighting poverty, effectiveness in working with teams from multiple practices and
with prior experience of successfully leading, designing and executing evaluations will be preferred.
Essential Functions
The candidate will perform the following key functions:
 Conceptualize, design and deploy cutting-edge monitoring, learning and evaluation practices across project and proposals.
 Develop the capacity and technical expertise of project staff in the field and headquarters to undertake sound Monitoring, Evaluation &
Research activities and to use data and findings for effective decision making.
 Work closely with and connect technical expertise and knowledge to advance the programme agenda.
 Lead and participate in teams responsible for the preparation of project interpretation notes, reports and presentations, and provide thought  leadership on core programme issues.
 Ensure high quality of project documents and provide quality control over client deliverables by incorporating global best practices.
Support programme stakeholders in interpreting findings,implementing recommendations and help troubleshoot as needed.
 Play an active role in engagement (including technical assistance,capacity building and policy dialogue) with senior government officials, partners and other actors.

Desired profile
Education Doctorate/Advance Masters/Master’s in Social Sciences or related disciplines from Premier Universities.
Experience

 5-8 years of work experience in Research and M&E.
 Experience on contemporary methodologies and practices,with hands-on experience in writing and publications.
 Experience of working in the social and development research (preferably in the domain of agriculture/livelihoods/natural resource management) in the management of large-scale surveys is desired
 Candidates with experience of working in rural areas of Maharashtra will be preferred
Personal Competencies
 In-depth knowledge of Research, Evaluation, Data Analysis & thematic understanding of various sectors in the social & development domain.
 Should have an excellent understanding of the relevant policy landscape and regulatory environment.
 High level of involvement, engagement and ownership.
 Flair for building quality relationships with programme stakeholders
 Demonstrated competence in handling teams.
 Strong interpersonal and negotiation ability.
 Strong time management skill and the ability to prioritize.
 Fluency in Marathi (speaking/reading/writing) is preferred
 Willingness to travel extensively.
