At Teach For India, we’ve built a nationwide movement of leaders who are working relentlessly to end inequity in education. It’s been twelve years since we began this journey and today we have 900+ Fellows leading classrooms impacting 32,000 children across the country, Through our Fellowship, we infuse the largest pipeline of driven, skilled talent into the educational ecosystem and have a growing movement of 3400+ Alumni. Our Alumni work at all levels of the education system from teaching, teacher training, school leadership and community empowerment to education technology, policy, governance, media as well as in the private sector. Cumulatively, our Alumni have founded 150+ organisations in the social sector with 200 of them occupying senior leadership and CXO positions across organisations.
77% of our Alumni continue to work in the development sector impacting 33 million, or 1 in 10 children across India, thereby demonstrating their commitment to our vision - One Day All Children Will Attain An Excellent Education. Collectively, these numbers represent the immense potential of our model and the power of our broader community - a potential to catalyze a movement for education reform and redefine what’s possible for children from the most vulnerable backgrounds. Our work will only be complete once we have built a movement of leaders large enough to ensure that every child in India is receiving an excellent education.
On Staff, we pride ourselves as being a passionate, idealistic, mission-driven team of 200+ individuals who are committed to the pursuit of excellence and practicing the values that shape us as people.. We have been recognised by Great Places To Work and are an equal opportunities employer, providing compensation and benefits at the top of the nonprofit sector.
The mission of the Development team is to build lifelong champions of the cause and to acquire financial support for the movement. As one of the most external-facing teams, we build high-impact sustainable partnerships and strong champions for the movement through various engagement avenues and immersions with our students, Fellows, Staff, and our Board. The Development team has repurposed fundraising efforts by building strategic partnerships, newer channels of giving, and strong teams and systems resilient to future threats.
The Regional Development Lead, North, will be a key leader of the team, building deep partnerships with existing donors, in Delhi and Ahmedabad and strategically cultivating lifelong champions and partnerships for the movement, to acquire new donors. We are seeking a high performing leader who possesses exceptional relationship-building skills, entrepreneurial spirit, a collaborative and effective approach to leading teams, and a deep personal belief in Teach For India’s vision and mission. He/she should also possess equal strength in operations as the backbone of any successful fundraising effort.
Teach For India embarks on a bold vision – by 2022-23, 5000 Fellow and Alumni, along with our children will be on the path to developing their own leadership and working towards educational equity in India. This ambitious growth needs to be supported by financial resources. The Development team will help secure these resources and also look at building partnerships that go beyond providing only financial support to fuel this growth. Development is one of the critical backbones of the organizations as the organization is completely dependent on donations in its current form. This year, we have consolidated our development operations across the cities that we operate in, into one team leading to greater efficiency. The team raises funds from various sources - Corporate CSR will continue to be our mainstay for the immediate and medium-term. We are also cultivating Foundations and High Net worth Individuals (HNI) as medium-term priorities. We will be supporting building our champions in the US through Friends of Teach For India. Additionally, we are building our capacity in the Multilateral and Impact Investing space by engaging with organizations such as USAID, UNICEF, and the likes. Over the past year, we have also piloted two online campaigns, and are looking to continue with such campaigns on a yearly basis.
