SEWA Bharat (www.SEWAbharat.org) is the All India Federation of Self-Employed Women’s Associations that works with women workers in the informal sector in 18 states. In all these states, SEWA is involved in organising women workers and their development through Self Help Groups, Cooperatives and Federations. With over 2 million active members across 18 states, SEWA Bharat’s reach in the development sector is ever expanding. SEWA Bharat supports development programs and activities that organize women so they can aim to achieve full employment and self-reliance for all its members. SEWA Bharat is a family of SEWA organizations to further informal women workers’ rights, livelihoods, financial independence, education, health and social security.

Overview

SEWA Bharat’s Skill Development programme aims to provide need-based, market-driven skill training and upskilling courses (both trade and soft skills) to women from marginalised communities. Posttraining, this programme helps women by enabling market linkages and exposure to facilitate employment and income growth. This programme is currently active in low-income districts (rural and urban) across states under SEWA Bharat.

Scope of Work

The skill development program is now being extended to strengthen a capacity building and training vertical within the organization to impart skills ranging from technical skills to entrepreneurship development to soft skills including grassroots advocacy. As a training coordinator, the primary responsibility will be to lead activities, projects, teams, and strategy in relation to the capacity building and training vertical across SEWA Bharat states.Primarily, this programme aims to benefit members and staff of social enterprises as well as micro entrepreneurs.

Tasks & Deliverables

● Managing the partnership with coordinating with stakeholders across states

● Leading the coordination between SEWA Bharat and SEWA Federation entities

● Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding trainings

● Mapping out training plans and schedules and identifying training needs for the social enterprises and micro entrepreneurs

● Assessment of the current modules and modifying them as per the need of the participants

● Provide support in designing and monitoring training programs

● Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on participants

● Document the work done across the skill development vertical and maintain training records and curriculum database

Skills Required  

● Bachelor’s or Master's degree in development related field, social work or in any relevant field

● 2 years of experience as a Training Coordinator, Training Facilitator or a similar role preferably with a grassroots organisation

● Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

● Ability to understand issues on the ground and design effective training programs.

● Strong organizational and decision-making skills.

● Ability to work in a team and handle multiple tasks.

The candidate’s base location would be Delhi with travel to project locations as and when necessary.
