What we're looking for

Looking for a passionate hustler with 3+ years experience in guidance and counselling with following priorities:

• A caring personality with a thorough understanding of services offered and systems to follow
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and de-escalate crises
• Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
• a person with empathy and patience
• Keen social perceptiveness; the ability to understand why people react the way they do
• Critical thinking and complex problem solving skills

The role entails regular interaction and communication with students across the campuses to provide mental and emotional support. Since most of our students are girls, we prefer and encourage to hire female candidates for the role.

NavGurukul has it's campuses at Bangalore, Pune and Dharamshala. Hence, this role would require the candidate to spend 10 months (stretched in a year) at different campuses to provide direct support to students.

Qualifications

• M.A/M.Sc in Psychology is preferred
• 3+ years of experience in counselling, guidance is preferred

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Identifying the issues that affect a student’s behaviour
• Offer counseling sessions to students and refer to therapists for medium to long term therapy
• Train and supervise the team of peer counselors on campuses and offer continuous support to them
• Conduct wellness assessments for students though detailed conversations, interviews and observations
• Implement wellness programs including wellness training and support, counseling groups
• Provide emergency psychological and emotional support whenever needed
• Conduct wellbeing trainings for students across all campuses
• Capacitate team on different emotional and mental well being.
