Background
Vitamin Angels (VA) is a non-profit organization working in the areas of maternal, infant, and young child nutrition with a focus on preventing anemia among pregnant women and vitamin A deficiency among under-five children. VA is partnering with the National Health Mission, Nagaland, to improve the coverage of vitamin A supplementation among under-five children by applying an Implementation Science (IS) approach.
Under this project, pilot interventions will be co-designed and tested with the NHM, Nagaland, in Dimapur and can be scaled up with the Programs team of VA and NHM, Nagaland. The pilot project will include various components, including Social and Behavior Change strategies, community mobilization efforts, training and capacity building of government health functionaries, data management, monitoring, data quality audits, supply chain management system, etc. The pilot project will be implemented at the community, health facility, and administrative health facility levels.
Responsibilities
Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate day-to-day coordination with project stakeholders including district and block government officials and frontline workers, civil society organizations, research agency, target beneficiaries and their caregivers, and community
Project Management: Work with the IS team to ensure the successful and timely completion of tasks related to data collection, management, analysis, and project implementation
Tool Adaptation: Oversee the translation and adaptation of data collection tools, training materials, and other technical tools as necessary
Logistics Coordination: Coordinate and arrange for all logistics and site support needs related to the research, intervention design, and implementation phases
Monitoring & Evaluation: Conducts site visits to monitor and evaluate study activities, prepare reports, and support documentation and progress tracking
Government Liaison: Participate in government meetings of the blocks and district
Educational Qualification and Experience
· Post-graduate degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Business Management, or related field
· 3 to 5 years of experience in roles involving building rapport, communication, liaison, and coordination with the community, field-level staff, district-level officials and stakeholders
· Project management experience in managing logistics for the implementation at the community level, which involves behavior change interventions and field-based research from managing data collection teams, supervising the data collection process, monitoring, and reporting.
Skills
· Ability to communicate clearly; good verbal and written communication in Nagamese and English
· Understanding of cultural aspects of Nagaland
· Leadership and project management ability to drive the project in the district
· Proficient in Microsoft Office packages like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Additional requirements
· Must have access to a two-wheeler vehicle and possess a valid Driving License
· Open to travel around 18-20 working days in the district
