As a Director of Programmes at Peepul, we seek exceptional entrepreneurial leaders who will have the unique opportunity to drive the transformation of public education in Madhya Pradesh — impacting the lives of over 9.75 million students and 325,000 teachers in 100,000 schools. The Director will work closely with Kruti Bharucha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and our eminent Board members to set strategic priorities and direction while having considerable autonomy to conceptualise, develop, and execute high-impact initiatives aligned with Peepul's mission.

 

With a formidable team of 210+ professionals, Peepul has made significant strides in India's education sector. The Director will play a pivotal role in setting and executing growth targets, refining organisational systems, and championing Peepul's ethos. Their leadership will be crucial as they directly lead and mentor a diverse team of 80+ professionals, drawing on decades of experience to cultivate talent and instil a culture of impact and excellence. They will forge deep and enduring relationships with government officials and education stakeholders, driving collaboration and enabling strategic alliances essential for the success of our programmes with additional responsibilities:

 

 Programme Design: Leverage extensive experience and insights to design evidence-based interventions precisely tailored to address the unique challenges and opportunities within the education landscape of Madhya Pradesh. Oversee the implementation of robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to guarantee the efficacy and sustainability of programmes.

 

• Operational Excellence: Ensure operational excellence by overseeing the development of implementation plans, setting up project management systems, monitoring progress, identifying and mitigating risks, implementing process improvements, and developing training programs for an internal team.

 

• Policy Influence: Harness expertise to engage with government authorities at all levels, advocating for education policy reforms grounded in best practices and datadriven insights, thus driving systemic change. —position Peepul as a preeminent thought leader in the sector.

 

• Organisational Expansion: Consider expanding Peepul to other states in the coming years while keeping the organisation's impact and mission in mind. This will 3 involve conducting feasibility studies and proposing expansion plans, considering the unique challenges and opportunities in a potential state, and ensuring that Peepul's values and ethos are maintained across all locations.

Requirements

At Peepul, we seek talented professionals passionate about driving educational transformation and making a positive impact. We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and meet the role requirements:

 

• Educational Background: A relevant post-graduation degree is highly preferred. Advanced degree and professional qualification in public administration and/or management, public policy, economics or relevant discipline is preferred.

 

• Work Experience: We value both professional and personal experience. The candidate should have 15-18 years of experience, with a proven track record of delivering robust strategic and operational leadership and the ability to manage large teams with excellence and high expectations.

 

• Other Skills: Outstanding interpersonal skills, leadership, communication and collaborating skills with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to influence strategic decisions and adapt quickly to changing environments. Solid understanding of the education landscape, with a knack for bringing innovative ideas. Experience working with government entities and familiarity with the Indian education system are highly desirable. Enthusiastic about the opportunity to expand their influence and take on more significant challenges nationally and internationally.
