Position: District Coordinator- Social Safety Net Programs (SSNP)

Role Profile:

  1. Project Implementation and Monitoring:
    • Prepare a monthly plan from focusing activities to implement of SSNP component of AMAN project.
    • Explore and identify multiple opportunities for the integration of nutrition across different sector programs of SSNP.
    • Coordinate and perform accordingly to the feedback from PO/NPM on any modifications required in the monthly planned activity.
  2. Develop and assist supply chain management system for regular distribution of fortified rice in scale up upazillas of Cox’s Bazar district
    • Coordinate and identify gaps of existing supply chain for the FFP and VWB program in Cox’s Bazar district.
    • Support District Women affairs Office and District Controller of Food Office to scale-up the FFP and VWB program and distribution of fortified rice to vulnerable women of all eight Upazilas of Cox’s bazar district.
    • Support Nutrition International hired vendor(s) in organizing National, district and Upazila level workshop/ training/meetings
  3. Facilitate quality control and quality assurance for production of fortified rice
    • Collect fortified rice sample randomly from stock, production line during each visit to rice blending units/ mills and test the blending ratio.
    • Facilitate the third-party validation through the agency assigned by WFP/ MoFood/ MoWCA to check quality of fortified rice before distribution to beneficiaries.
    • Coordinate with quality control personnel of blending unit/rice mill for testing of fortified rice at least thrice for each batch of production/ blending and keeping test records in book.
  4. Advocacy and liaison with the government and relevant organizations to implement the project
    • Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring to frontline workers and their supervisors and intensive liaison of departments of food and women affairs to ensure the quality and efficiency of SSNP.
    • Visit and check the activity of the virtual cooking demonstrations on low-cost, locally available nutritious and fortified foods (salt, oil, rice etc.) with beneficiaries and through different platforms.
  5. Strengthen linkage between SSNP and nutrition service delivery platforms
    • Support gender sensitive BCI implemented at SSNP delivery points or distribution platforms by frontline workers SSNP.
    • Support and monitor the coordination of MoHFW, MoWCA, Ministry of Food, members of the D/U NCC and responsible for the implementation of MMNP activities, to ensure proper BCI are incorporated into their respective programs.
  6. Technical and operational support to rice millers for installation and maintenance of fortification units (blenders)
    • Guide plant supervisors to calibrate and check FRK feeder for delivering measured quantities of FRK after collection of rice samples for testing and whenever required.
    • Orient/ extend supportive supervision to the owners, managers, and assistants for imparting technical skills on plant maintenance, hygiene, cleanliness etc. which are critical aspects of good manufacturing practices for rice fortification blending units.
  7. Monitoring and supportive supervision
    • Undertake field visits for program monitoring with help of monitoring checklist and utilizing that information to inform district/national level discussions and negotiations.
    • Support to facilitate external and internal field trips and exposure visits.
    • Support in drafting and compiling monitoring reports, progress reports, evaluation reports, photographs, case studies, good practices, video documentaries, etc.
    • Collect and submit the monthly data at project sites, initial analysis undertaken and shared with the Project Officer (PO).
  8. Community Level Engagement and mSBCC Activities related with SSNP:
    • Provide necessary support to organize and facilitate different community-level events and mSBCC activities aligned with SSNP at the community level in coordination with the relevant priority government departments, LGIs, and NGO partners.
  9. Administrative Activities and AOB:
    • Prepare monthly programmatic and financial reports by using the prescribed formats.
    • Conduct official trips within and outside of the district by using local transport.
    • Ensure proper maintenance of the office equipment including laptop, cell phone, or any other materials.
    • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor

Educational Requirement:

  • Minimum master’s degree from a recognized university with 3-5 years working experiences in development field. Master’s degree in food engineering/ technology or nutrition is preferred.

Experience Requirement:

  • Having experience in Food Fortification sector is preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of working experiences in development field.
  • Computer skilled in MS word, MS excel and power point is mandatory.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: Monthly gross salary for this position is BDT 50,000
  • Travel Expenses: BDT 1000 for per working day and 22 days per month)
  • Eligible for Festival Bonus, PF, Gratuity & Insurance as per company policy
