Position: Regional Health Coordinator for Asia
Organization: Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh)
Responsibilities
The Health Coordinator for Asia ensures the regional impact of Tdh health projects and the good quality of its interventions. S/he takes care of program management on a regional scale, ensure contextualization and coordinate integration into the region's matrix organization. S/he reports directly to the Head of Health Program, works in coordination with the Deputy Operations Manager for Asia and country program coordinators, and leads and coordinates the development and implementation of the health strategy, in line with institutional directions, geographical contextualization, complementarity, collegiality, transparency and efficiency at regional level. S/he is responsible for managing and carrying out a set of activities within the operational, thematic, administrative, financial, and logistical domains, as well as for the corresponding technical support. Countries to oversee are India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Myanmar.
Under the supervision of the Head of Health Program, s/he will be responsible to:
- Ensure the roll-out of the health program at the regional level, and as such guarantee the regional impact of Tdh in his/her field of expertise.
- Demonstrate ethical and exemplary leadership to maintain Tdh’s good reputation and lead all the region’s collaborators to a shared vision in harmony with Tdh’s strategic orientations.
- Be in charge of developing and consolidating the health program in the region, as well as securing required resources (financial and human) with the support services involved.
- See to structuring the health program in the region and delegations in collaboration with the operational portfolio.
- Contribute to program steering in his/her region for the implementation and follow-up of key programmatic indicators.
- Develop and foster innovation within the program in his/her region.
- Support the implementation of the insurance and quality-control system for the program’s projects in the region.
- Ensure the implementation of knowledge management and sharing in his/her region.
- Lead and develop program’s strategic partnerships in his/her region.
- Collect reporting information and facilitate production of management reports (dashboards, scorecards) at regional level.
- Ensure that situational analysis, country needs, and funding landscape are up to date.
- Undertake duty travel relating to project/programme assessment and implementation, liaison with counterparts, problem solving, and new project/programme development, as required.
- Be responsible for and accountable to beneficiaries, collaborators and donors.
- Make sure that his/her teams and partners have been instructed in the security policies and the general code of conduct and comply with them at all times.

Competencies
- This function requires possession of fundamental personal, social and leadership skills (CPSLs), technical and methodological skills (CTMs) and Managerial and strategic skills (CMSs) In particular:
- A proper incorporation and application of the guidelines and strategy in the development and execution of their activities
- A good understanding and command of the stakes of health and the regional context
- Significant experience in developing partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and mobilizing resources
- An excellent capacity and ease in expressing him/herself in public (conferences, workshops) and adapting to his/her audience (governments and local authorities)
- Significant experience in managing programs/projects and teams
- Experience of drafting project proposals and managing subsidies, fundraising, and a good understanding of financial partners
- A good knowledge and experience of the project management cycle and M&E
- Excellent interpersonal qualities: integrity, a capacity to judge and diplomacy ? Proactive, creative and out-of-the-box thinking
Education:
- A university degree in Public Health or in a medical field.
- Higher education in development studies, management, international relationships, or other field related to the functions of the position will be an asset.
Experience, Skills & Competencies:
- At least 10 years-experience in coordination and implementation of health projects, within NGOs and/or International Organizations, in international cooperation and/or humanitarian context.
- Very good knowledge and understanding of Digital Health, Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition, Health System Strengthening (preferably in Asia).
- Significant experience in developing partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and mobilizing resources.
- Excellent public speaking skills (conference, workshop) and ability to adapt to different audiences (governments and local authorities).
- Significant experience in programme/project management and team management.
- Experience in writing project proposals and managing grants, fundraising, and good knowledge of funding partners.
- Good knowledge and experience of the project management and M&E cycle.
Languages: Proficiency in English and knowledge of French. Other languages will be an asset.
