Position: Sustainability Manager/ Analyst

Who and what are we looking for?

 

As a Sustainability Manager and Analyst you’ll play a key role in supporting the Management Team in strategic decision making with data collection and analysis. You’ll support certification related analytics and reporting, manage Arc GIS and Forestry Inventory systems, and help manage information on sensitive species and high conservation areas.


You’ll work closely with the operations teams and tree specialists to report on the project's impact (environmental and other). You'll collaborate with colleagues throughout the different business units to ensure proactive communication, data collation, analysis, and reporting.

 

Main tasks & responsibilities: 

  • Identify appropriate methodologies for and evaluating sustainability metrics related to Earthtree’s sustainability goals and reporting initiatives.
  • Collection, analysis, verification and reporting of environmental data required for different sustainability reports and assessments following GRI standards.
  • Work with stakeholders across the company to identify, track, manage, and report on the project impact.
  • Manage the development of processes, tools, and infrastructure required to manage and track all sustainability data.
  • Conduct environmental footprint analysis, working with internal and external partners to calculate our overall carbon footprint.
  • Provide direction to operation teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration as well as efficient use of resources and compliance with regulatory sustainability requirements and international standards. 
  • Continuously update your knowledge and be aware of the latest international sustainability standards.
  • Ensure alignment with GHG Protocol, SBTi and other relevant accounting and disclosure standards that emerge (e.g. ISO, ISSB)
  • Develop effective and standardised communication channels and processes to allow the flow of information to smoothly go from the field to the management and vice versa.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to the CEO and stakeholders.
  • Manage implementation teams in performing sustainability reporting and assurance assignments
  • You will be working with colleagues out of various countries and be involved in international projects
  • Analysis and review corporate reporting including compliance with existing and emerging regulation
  • You are flexible to undertake short international travelling now and then.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent practical technical, quantitative, or project experience in the sustainability field.
  • 5+ years practical experience in greenhouse gas accounting, methods, data collection and management, data integrity controls, disclosure and verification.
  • Demonstrable experience in reporting project impacts.
  • Ability to create clear findings from large data sets.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing fast-paced projects with multiple players across cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with sustainability-related disclosure standards, data controls, or third-party assurance processes.
  • Strong technical communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to address a wide range of audiences including non-experts in other functions.
  • Strong project management and written skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet quick deadlines.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and develop deep content knowledge quickly. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels and functions.
  • Good knowledge of and ability to report on various international sustainability standards, work on reporting overall project impacts (environmental and others), reporting as per standards and communicating about the same.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques relevant to carbon projects including experience of applying calculation methodologies and estimating carbon offsets generated by nature-based carbon projects, and associated understanding of evaluating, monitoring, and measuring the impact for carbon, biodiversity and community benefits.
  • Knowledge of measuring and demonstrating the impact of forestry projects in line with external benchmarking such as SDGs, SBTs, NBS.

  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, carbon registries, governments and NGOs.
  • Experience of working internationally in varied cultures and countries.
  • Experience of communicating to a diverse range of audiences. 
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful or complex situations.
  • Experience working with virtual teams in fast growing companies.
