About Young Lives
Young Lives India, specialises in research, policy, evaluation and intervention related to children, adolescents and youth. We started off as a research project coordinated by the University of Oxford in 2001.This project is an innovative longitudinal international study following 12,000 children over 18 years in four developing countries – Ethiopia, India (in the state of Andhra Pradesh), Peru and Vietnam. Young Lives has expanded the scope of its work beyond the aforesaid project and is working with UN agencies, Government of India, National Institutes such as National Council of Educational Research & Education (NCERT), National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), various state governments as well as social sector organizations on issues related to children, adolescent and youth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Writing proposals and implementing qualitative projects. Developing easy to administer tools of measurement.
- Develop training manuals and conduct capacity building workshops for education functionaries.
- Supervise and ensure quality assurance in field work and conduct data analysis.
- Write summary and analytical reports/ papers, policy briefs etc.
- Please contribute to the design of ongoing Young Lives research, evaluations, and its dissemination. Manage collaboration with partner research institutes
Essential Requirements for the Role:
- Minimum 4 - 5 years of work experience in qualitative research.
- Excellent analytical and statistical skills, including expertise in using ATLAS.ti/ NVivo.
- Experience in developing and conducting qualitative surveys/ evaluation is essential.
- High level writing and communication skills and ability to produce reports; experience of editing research outputs in English.
- Experience of undertaking literature reviews and communicating complex information in summary form, preferably in an area related to Young Lives India research theme.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills and preferably experience of working in multidisciplinary teams. Good personal organisational skills with experience of managing a varied and heavy workload.
- Experience in developing content and providing capacity building of government functionaries. Proven ability to handle different projects/tasks at one time, successfully complete tasks assigned, and meeting deadlines
Education Requirements:
A Masters/ MPhil/ Ph.D. in education, psychology, sociology, anthropology or a closely related field in social science from a reputed institution is required
