Position: Events Operations Associate

Organization: Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN)

Location: New York


Overview of Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage events from point of contract to hands-on execution, through post-event assessment.
• Work with each department (Membership, Development, Finance, etc.) to maintain the highest standards of delivery to our members and strategic partners.
• Create and maintain organized and detailed meeting assets to ensure smooth execution.
• Manage external consultants and contractors.
• Assist in researching potential speakers and topics for conference sessions.
• Be a resource for GIIN Members, partners, and conference sponsors.
• Be a resource for meeting speakers and delegates.
• Manage day-to-day event operations and including interfacing with our outside meeting services team.
• Work with marketing to create event content for the website and social media.
• Assist in tracking all meeting KPIs.
• Coordinate internal and external conference calls to assure progress against deadlines.
• Ensure completion of post-event tasks – surveys, best practices, etc.
• Monitor innovations and best practices in the conference space.
• Other duties, projects, and tasks as per business need, and assigned by supervisor.

This position will be based in our New York City office with significant remote work flexibility offered through the GIIN’s hybrid in-person/remote work model.

Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience. Salary range for this role is $48,000-$60,000.

Qualifications

Must haves


• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 Suite with a strong focus on Excel
• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM preferred
• Excellent communications and proof-reading skills
• Comfortable with technology and embracing of new applications
• Superior organizational skills

Nice to haves

• Experience with Google docs
• Appreciation and a general understanding of the impact investing industry.

Other requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in event operations management, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Proven background and knowledge of strategizing and executing events.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; results oriented.
• Experience in managing event logistics, budget and operational excellence.
• Ability to successfully multi-task, delegate, and manage several tasks at once in fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
