Program Details
The Urban Ultra Poor Program (UUPP) reaches out to the most destitute families in urban slum communities and is aimed at tackling urban poverty through holistic interventions in five areas: Livelihood Development, Healthcare Support, Financial Literacy & Financial Services, Childcare & Education Support and Social Support. Our ultimate goal is to tackle generational and familial poverty rather than provide isolated individual female support and help these families become independent and self-reliant. After 12 months, families have a stable level of income, can send their children to school regularly, know where to receive quality and affordable medical care, have proof of identity and address to prove their existence, access government benefits, and save regularly in a bank account.
The program has covered 8850 families in 135 communities in Bangalore
