Role and Responsibilities
Role of Street Coordinator (SC) involved in Education
- Each street coordinator (SC) has to give 8 hours to the welfare of children (3 hours at each contact point) on daily basis six days in a week.
- SC should enter or exit in the prescribed time to the contact point/office. S/he must give a miss call to the field coordinator or senior as informed by the organization at the time of entry and exit.
- Collect children at the contact point and ensure that they sit on different mats (as far as possible) according to their level (I, II and III)
- Ensure the following minimum standards for running an education program
- S/he has to ensure enrolment of a minimum 30 street and working children. These 30 children should be out-of-school children and age group is 7-16 years at each contact point for the education program. They will be a direct beneficiary of contact point
- Maintain direct beneficiary Attendance Register of the contact point on a daily basis
- Ensure implementation of non-formal education (NFE) through “Srijan” which is a handbook for SC. Provide education according to children’s level, Levels I, II, and III.
- SC should receive the “Srijan”, worksheet and documentation manual from the Assistant Project Coordinator/Project Coordinator
- Files to be maintained of the direct beneficiary who is enrolled in the direct beneficiary Attendance Register by ensuring the following
- Case sheet of the child should be attached
- Monthly test papers attempted by a child is attached and checked.
- Quarterly progress report of each child at the backside of the case sheet.
- All the worksheets/casual drawings/greeting cards or any rough work done by the child to be attached.
- Ensure that all education materials like, Srijan, notebooks, slates, rough papers, colours, pencils, rubbers, mats etc are available at the contact point all the day.
- Ensure the safety of the material box. The box is to be locked and kept in the safe custody of the stakeholder.
- Immediately inform to the senior in writing if any material required or lost
- Prepare the list of children who are eligible and interested for admission in formal school from contact point. Handover the list to the Senior Street Educator/Field Coordinator in time so that they can pursue this with the schools on time.
- Should be updated with the status of children which get admission in formal schools, if there is any drop out child, immediately inform to Senior Street Coordinator/Field Coordinator for the follow up.
- Linking more children to Badhte Kadam-Federation of Street and Working children facilitated by CHETNA. Ensure at least 20 membership slips of BK from your contact point.
- Provide First Aid Facility to the children. Mention the name of children who have been provided first aid in medical/stock register kept at the contact point.
- Ensure the recreation activities at the contact point on daily basis. You can involve BK member in the distribution of recreation material and management of games.
- Ensure following administrative requirements
- Ensure five register at the contact point, according to Documentation Manual 2009 and should be updated
- Enter the minutes of meeting with stakeholders, support group meetings, parents meetings and life-skills workshop in the event register etc.
- Daily enter your movement (strictly before going to the field) in the movement register
- The material which is issued from the field office should be mentioned Medical/Stock Register.
- Whenever any senior person from CHETNA visited your contact point, please ensure to take his or her signature on the documents to ensure his/her inputs and presence.
- For planned leaves please inform to office at least 3 days advance and properly fill leave format. Avoid emergency leaves as much possible.
- Ensure receiving of monthly reporting format in advance every month so you can fill information time to time. Also take evaluation format so you can work accordingly.
