KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities of the Technical Specialist (Qualitative Research) will be to support the RAP Team in:
- Developing research proposals and conceptual models
- Conducting qualitative research studies in various domains of health systems research
- Developing data collection tools/ instruments
- Conducting In-depth Interviews and Focus Group discussions
- Coordination with research partners and facilitating training and data collection
- Analysing qualitative data and developing reports/ research papers toinform policymakers and the researcher’s community.
ESSENTIAL
- Academic specialization: Masters in public health or social sciences or a related discipline preferred. The candidate should have formal training in qualitative research methods.
- Experience: Minimum two years of relevant field experience doing qualitative research, involving the collection of original data. Experience in conducting qualitative studies, including study design, data collection, implementation, and analysis is required.
- Software: Proficient in using at least one commonly used qualitative data analysis software such as NVivo, Atlas.ti, etc.
- Communication/ Language: Superior written and oral communication skills in English.
- Interpersonal skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively in teams and with multiple stakeholders.
PREFERRED
- A candidate with an MPhil or a Ph.D. who has used mixed methods in their thesis would be preferred.
