Primary Responsibilities:

• Understand the Holistic Collective Farming Model thoroughly that is being implemented in Shiratoki.
• Develop a passion for the uplift of small and marginal farmers and work towards making them self-reliant in 5-year time frame.
• Empathising with farmers is essential, and ensuring that the interests of the farmers in the FPC are kept as paramount.
• Develop and source out markets for each type of produce of the FPC, so that the financial well-being of the FPC is maintained.
• As the requirement for water is critical for agriculture, and provision has been made for rain-water storage, utilisation of stored water based on the cropping pattern needs to be monitored.
• Intense coordination between various agencies is essential, such as liaison with agencies installing infrastructure, officers of the District Administration, to mention a few.
• Ensure accuracy in financial accounting and monitor the utilisation of funds, assist the FPC in maintaining financial accounts, and monitor the utilization of the finances.
• Ensure that adequate data is collected, stored and analysed regarding the agriculture, post harvest, processing and marketing operations, so that the analyses can be used as logical feedback for the operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture / Rural Management from any recognised university..
• Self-starter, with empathy for fellow human beings and meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience of 7+ years, having held responsible positions overseeing marketing activities in the FPO / FPC space.
• Be computer literate.
• Ability to converse in English, Hindi and Marathi is a must. The ability to speak the Kolam language is a plus.

For a successful and accomplished candidate, a promotion to handle greater responsibility is possible, with concomitant training towards the installation of ZBNF (Zero Budget Natural Farming), installation of cropping under the ZBNF, assessing its growth, effectively communicating growth process, learning drip irrigation methodology, solar drying of crops, the process of value-addition and marketing and exports. Guidance will be provided for you to be able to shoulder these responsibilities, while we expect the candidate to apply himself / herself diligently to progress in the career.
