Responsibilities:
As the Business Manager, the person will be responsible for the following activities:
- Implement the value chain development projects being undertaken by FDRVC in the region
- Facilitate the promotion of linkages among value chains, larger businesses, private financiers and govt. agencies.
- Technical supervision of annual work planning process and implementation of the same
- S/he will need to support the specialist or regional team with research and analysis; and lead communication with stake-holders in building the eco-system.
- Develop SOPs for business operations to be taken up by the Producer Enterprises including procurement, logistics, storage, materials management, financial management, value addition, marketing/trading, cost control, budget oversight
- To develop strategies and tools to position the organizations for higher performance
- Closely coordinate with the SRLMs for successful implementation of the projects in a time bound manner.
- Facilitate the pre-incorporation/incorporation/post-incorporation activities for Producer Enterprises as per SOP, identifying the location and facilitate set up of Digital Commodity Collection Centre (D3C) under each PE.
- S/he would ensure adoption and rollout of various modules (e.g. ERP, finance, procurement, ZOHO projects etc.) by the PEs
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Educational Qualifications Required
- Bachelors degree Agriculture and allied, food technology, commerce or other relevant fields.
- MBA in Agribusiness/Rural Management from an institution of repute or a Chartered Accountant
Experience
- Minimum 5-6 years of relevant experience in agri-business with a reputed company of which at least 2 year should be in field level engagements in agriculture sourcing or in food processing.
- Experience of managing topline and bottom line targets.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong business skills – financial analysis, operations management, supply chain management, market analysis
- Ability to identify scalable business opportunities
- Development of business plans including market analysis, business model, financial projections and other relevant skills required for bankable business plan development
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with demonstrated strength in relationship management
- Ability to work independently to structure complex problems, develop business plans and support recommendations with data/analysis
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office, spreadsheets and databases) are required
