Position: State NCD Medical Officer

The incumbent will work under the overall guidance Team Leader (NCD) and in direct supervision of NPO (NCD). S/he will have the following responsibilities in her/his assigned area of work:

  • Function as a focal person for strengthening “Continuum of NCD Care” and IHCI projects at State level;
  • Coordinate implementation of selected interventions for Management of Hypertension and strengthening “Continuum of NCD Care”;
  • Monitor and supervise implementation at the district level and report progress of implementation to WHO-India Office and to State Health Department;
  • Organize and facilitate meetings with concerned authorities and partners at the state and district level in consultation with WHO India;
  • Facilitate coordination meetings of implementing stakeholders at state and district level and ensure project activities are on track;
  • Consolidate reports from health facilities, and district NCD Cell and other implementation sites and submit both physical and financial progress to WHO-India Office;
  • Build synergies with the Sub-regional Office of WHO, technical experts operating at State level, as well as the State Health Department and District Health Offices;
  • Monitor book of accounts for the projects at State and District levels; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s) or as required by WHO India office. 

Qualifications required:
Education:

Essential: University degree in Medical Science (MBBS) or equivalent in related field from a recognized institution/university.

Desirable: Post graduation in Public Health or other allied fields

Experience:

Essential: At least two years of professional experience in health service delivery at grassroots level, and experiences in project management

Desirable: Working experience with intergovernmental agencies at the national and state level will be an advantage.
