Position: Field Training Coordinators (FTC)

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sr Manager (Government Engagement Projects), the consultant (Field Training Coordinator) shall be responsible for implementing Water.org’s multiple programs in Maharashtra / Madhya Pradesh, working closely with various internal, government and private stakeholders.

The programs shall be executed in a disciplined, fast-paced manner, with defined milestone-based deliverables. The programs are currently in the inception and pilot phase and are expected to be rolled out nationally, over a year period.

Scope of Work and Responsibilities

1. Training (Capacity Building) and Travel

  • Conduct field trainings for Block, Village level officers and Panchayati Raj officials on water and sanitation loan financing;
  • Conduct facilitation workshops with program staff on water and sanitation loan financing solutions and ensure dissemination of WSS financing knowledge among project block officers and clients;
  • Conduct WASH awareness workshops either individually or with partner organization volunteers at the village level;
  • Work closely with partner organization staff to implement water and sanitation interventions with a focus on financial solutions;
  • Travel outside the state and any part of the country on official assignments assigned time to time
  • Support and contribute to communications with Water.org staff working in the same state regarding program deadlines, training objectives and monitoring/ evaluation activities.

2. Liaison and convergence with the Stakeholders:

  • Liaise with state, district and block administration and other line departments, local government and NGOs, to enhance their participation and collaboration.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills especially with vulnerable groups as women, children and other.
  • Establishes, builds, and sustains effective relationship, partnerships and alliances with governments, private sector, foundations and other agencies

3. Documentation and Reporting

  • Document field level program activities, including trainings and share regular reports with the designated supervisor(s) of the client;
  • Participate in periodic review and planning meetings and submit the advance monthly work plan, progress reports and necessary documentation specified time to time as per requirements of the client
  • Generates new ideas and approaches, researches best practices and proposes new, more effective ways of doing things
  • Documents and analyses innovative strategies and new approaches Plans and produces    quality results to meet established goals
  • Coordinate timelines, manage deadlines, and track proposal elements to ensure high-quality, timely proposal submissions.

Management Responsibility:

Individual contributor with no subordinates.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a graduate, or equivalent, from a reputed, globally recognized institute. Specialization in Project Management, Finance, Water and Sanitation or Rural Management, Training and development will be an advantage.

  1. Experience : Not more than 5 years and not less than 2 years - in managing multi-stakeholder projects, preferably on water, sanitation, and hygiene with combination of knowledge of microfinance
  2. Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-year projects, supported by government, bilateral or multilateral agencies.
  3. Strong analytical and presentation skills; 
  4. Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate in both English and Hindi. Fluency in Marathi / Hindi is desirable;
  5. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with various program leaders to bring about clear objectives and cohesive action plans;
  6. Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work well with those from various backgrounds and cultures;
  7. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of individuals with diverse expertise; 
  8. Demonstrated ability to plan, conceptualize and deliver effective programs
  9. Strong evidence of team management experience and proven ability to foster team building; demonstrated ability to plan, conceptualize and deliver effective programs;
  10. Experience in engaging with senior management in a bi - lateral / multi - lateral organizations, government, private sector; 
  11. Sound knowledge of project management tools and utilize these regularly in work and assignments; 

Travel Requirement: Up to 80% of domestic travel.

Involves intensive domestic travel within the districts and intra districts / states as needed. Travel will commence as is advisable given business needs and safety considerations as determined by organizational guidelines.

* The gross consultancy fees budgeted for the position is attractive. Offers shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and salary history, of the selected candidate.
