Position: Senior Training and Research Coordinator

The Senior Training and Research Coordinator will
• Conceptualise, develop content, coordinate and conduct trainings / capacity building (online as well as offline) on multiple, intersecting issues including public health, sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence and reproductive and health care technologies.
• Conceptualise, develop and coordinate research in the above areas.
Responsibilities and Tasks
▪ Identify and assess opportunities to build Sama’s training and research initiatives, strengthen their outreach and impact.
▪ Develop the organisational infrastructure and capacity building further on the above issues.
▪ Conduct Literature reviews, field research, analysis, report writing and dissemination.
▪ Provide ongoing support and technical assistance to other organisational initiatives; provide inputs and support for organisational development, among other activities.
▪ Develop collaborative initiatives for capacity building and advocacy, identifying ways to strengthen proposed initiatives and support their successful development.
▪ Build and consolidate collaborative relationships with NGOs, health networks, coalitions working to advance public health, gender justice and human rights.
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
▪ Passion and commitment to advancing gender, health and rights through research, capacity building and advocacy.
▪ Knowledge of the ecosystem of organisations and actors working to advance health and gender justice and public health.
▪ Strong communication skills, external relationship skills, ability to collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders across sectors, NGOs, community-based groups and feminist and public health networks, academic institutions, donor agencies, philanthropy.
▪ Excellent analytical, research and writing skills and ability to synthesise information.
▪ Strong team orientation, interpersonal and team building skills.
▪ Experience working on a small team in a collaborative environment.
▪ Close attention to detail, self-motivated and ability to engage with multiple initiatives simultaneously.
▪ Ability to drive and facilitate collaborative group decision-making processes; build consensus; and meet timelines.
▪ Experience in writing and reviewing grant proposals, in planning, and evaluation.
▪ Creative and resourceful; willingness and ability to travel.
Education and Experience
▪ Post Graduate degree /doctoral degree or equivalent experience in public health/gender studies /development studies and social sciences or a related field.
▪ Knowledge of and experience working in public health – health care systems, sexual and reproductive health, addressing gender-based violence, reproductive and health care technologies
▪ Experience of working with communities, grassroots organizations, health and other networks and in policy spaces.
▪ Fluency in English and Hindi (speaking, understanding and writing).
▪ Relevant work experience of at least 7-8 years.
▪ Willingness to commit for a minimum Period of Two years with the organization
