Position: Communication Lead

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in in metering, billing, collection/ microfinance, working with Women’s self-help groups (WSHGs)/ Village Level Entrepreneur (VLEs)/ Public distribution shops (PDS)/ Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS)/ Common Service Centers (CSC)
  • Experience in conducting training (on various aspects like soft skills, gender awareness etc.) with the community as well as with officials
  • Experience in networking with different organisations including government bodies, CSOs, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and oral communication skills in Hindi.
  • Good working knowledge of modern telecommunication systems, IT-know-how (MS-Office).

Skills:

Experience in managing, monitoring and delivering of a communication campaign in the rural setting, in-depth understanding of rural ecosystem especially for women, proven editing presentation, documentation, analytical, written and verbal communication skills, in English and Hindi.

Job Description:

  • Lead public awareness campaign on the ground.
  • Lead the roll-out of the communication campaign for training of the community based franchisees in the Model Distribution Divisions (MDD) on revenue collection and soft skills in interacting with the consumers.
  • Lead public awareness campaign for consumers in the MDDs
  • Train UPPCL staff on communication materials, models, guidance notes on gender awareness in the energy sector.
  • Identification of UPPCL contractors and guiding/ supporting them on gender responsiveness, inclusion and mainstreaming.
  • Facilitate NGO Coordinator, Discom coordinator and MDD Team Lead for pilot implementation, data collection.
  • Work with the SHG/ other community based franchisees in encouraging and motivating them and training them on soft skills.
  • Other similar and associated activities as may be required within the scope of work to improve revenue collection.
