Qualification & Experience:
Master’s in public health having 3-4 years of experience in public health/community.
Or
Ph.D. in Public Health/Social Sciences having 1-2 years of experience (post Ph.D.).
Or
MD in community medicine.

Desirable:
• Preference will be given to candidates having previous experience managing international, community-based research projects.
• Willingness to be based in the field.
• Previous experience managing large, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Candidates must be flexible to take international calls outside regular business hours
• Candidates must be capable of writing reports and manuscripts.
• Candidate must be flexible and willing to work long hours and odd hours.

Job Summary:

This is an international research project between UCSF and PGIMER that will evaluate the nutritional impact of multiply fortified salt among women of reproductive age and preschool-aged children in Mohali district, Punjab. The project coordinator will play a key role in organizing and monitoring all project activities (field, office, and laboratory).

He/she will work closely with local and foreign investigators, and all study staff to ensure the successful implementation of the project according to the study protocol and schedule. The position will require networking with relevant officials within the institution, the state government, and local communities.

The project coordinator will facilitate the attainment of various approvals, will contribute to the development of study protocols and data collection forms, will supervise data collection and monitor data quality. He/she will assist with the procurement of study supplies and will facilitate regular research team meetings.

The project coordinator will prepare regular progress updates and will contribute to the preparation of research reports and manuscripts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Overall management and supervision of research activities to ensure study objectives are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Monitor data quality.
- Supervision and capacity building of research team members.
- Organize and coordinate project activities, meetings, and workshops.
- Support and participate in the training of research team members.
Provide accurate reports of project status and relevant project information to Principal Investigators.
- Liaise with the relevant institutions, state government, and community officials.
- Undertake administrative duties, develop, and maintain project schedules, assign tasks to team members, compile summaries and report writing.

Emoluments (per month): Commensurate with qualification and experience

Terms and Conditions:


1. The post is purely temporary. Employment will automatically terminate upon completion/termination of project and there is no liability for permanent employment on PGIMER Chandigarh or Principal Investigator or funding agency.
