Position: Manager – Research & New Initiatives

Organization: SocialWell 

Location: Remote

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SocialWell invites applications for the position of Manager – Research & New Initiatives. If you are passionate about solving problems using digital technologies, this role is the right one for you.

The incumbent will be responsible for four areas:

A) New Initiatives

B) Marketing

C) Research & Data Analysis

D) Administrative

Area A: New Initiatives (30%)

1. Thinking, brainstorming, and articulating technology solutions appropriate for the problems and contexts shared by the prospective and existing partners.

2. Design the solution approach using appropriate technical diagrams, supported by a concise and simple description

3. Develop and present the solution to the partners

4. Incorporate feedback from the partners to finalize the solution

5. Collaborate with the UI/UX Designer to develop wireframes/ hi-fi designs of the prototype

6. Collaborate with Software Development Team to make a financial estimation for the proposal

7. Aim to submit approximately three bids in a month (of about 12 to 15 pages) and two short notes (about four pages)

8. Participate in two incubation programs that SocialWell participates in – a-IDEA, NAARM and Center for Innovation and Incubation, Utkan University. The participation requires weekly calls with the Mentor and submission of proposals, usually by the Central and State Governments.

Area B. Marketing (20%)

1. Produce articles and blogs on population technology topics.

2. Collaborate with Software Development Team to brainstorm on the topic ideas and develop the draft content outline.

3. Collaborate with Software Development Team to get the details like code snippets, screenshots, and write ups.

4. Edit, post, and share the articles and blogs in SocialWell Blog and other spaces.

5. Produce one to two high quality article or blog in a month.

Area C: Research & Data Analysis (30%)

1. Review and discuss the problem statements and interventions in digital health and livelihoods with the Partners, Livelihoods Expert, and Digital Health partner.

2. Develop study design using appropriate methods for qualitative and quantitative studies

3. Develop questionnaire in MS-Word/ Excel format for presenting to the Partner

4. Collaborate with the Software Development Team to implement the questionnaire in Web/ Mobile App

5. Develop and present the study design and management to the Partner.

6. There is one research project that needs developing the study design and questionnaire.

7. Study the datasets available for specific AI/ML projects, define and annotate the datasets for the Software Development Team to evaluate and finalize ingestible datasets.

Area D: Admin (20%)

1. Draft and finalize contracts for the new projects

2. Prepare timesheets for projects and Partners who need timesheet reporting

3. There are two timesheets for two Partners in a month to be prepared.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

1. The candidate should have a graduate degree in any branch of Engineering/ Technology, Management,Social Science, Sciences, and Arts.

2. Highly analytical with experience in at least one research project.

3. Shall have a high level of proficiency in using MS-Word, MS-Excel, PowerPoint, and a diagramming application (such as MS-Visio, Draw.io).

4. Shall have experience in writing proposals for custom software development.

5. Shall be able to write flawless English with a strong sense of appropriate word usage.
