Position: Senior Manager – Fundraising

What will the Senior Manager – Fundraising do?
The key responsibilities of this individual would include but not be limited to:
- Map and plan outreach to Foundations, UHNIs, Multilaterals and their offices to explore long term funding partnerships
- Identifying grant funding opportunities.
- Prepare proposals by determining concepts, gathering information, coordinating with relevant program leads, writing drafts and obtaining approvals.
- Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal (RFPs), and attending strategy meetings.
- Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal.
- Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information, coordinating submissions and collections, and identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
- Accomplishes Janaagraha’s goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Work with the CEO/COO/Head of Development on mapping and identifying synergies with large Foundations and Philanthropies to create potential long-term partnerships opportunities
- Apply your knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach the income goals of Janaagraha.
What are we looking for?
- 12-15 years of work experience in Fund Raising/Grant Writing/Allied roles in the “Not for Profit” sector
- Excellent Researching skills and a deep knowledge of the funding ecosystem.
- Ability to learn quickly on the job; willingness to adapt; excels in working across multidisciplinary
teams and exhibits superior project management skills
- Able to deal with ambiguity.
- Excellent communication skills- both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage working relationships with Large Donors
- Highly Self-Motivated, can take complete ownership and work independently in an
unstructured work environment with minimal supervision
- Prior experience in constructing funding proposals, RFP’s; a deep knowledge
of Climate change/ Gender/ Public health sectors would be considered as a big positive.
