Position: Program Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work on the Center’s Urban Works project to lend coordination support for project planning, design, and implementation of project activities
- Be a part of either the Environmental or Health program team as coordinator
- Assist with outreach plans, program communications, and preliminary research
- Monitor project activities and maintain updated records, reports, presentations
- Providing logistical support for public programs and events at the Mumbai Center, including drafting and sending invitations, preparing participant profiles, responding to queries, making travel arrangements, preparing requisitions, and updating records
- Coordinating with a large network of Columbia University faculty and staff as well as academics, alumni, and public and private sector entities on behalf of supervising program officers
- Performing other duties and occasional travel as required to meet the goals and mission of the Mumbai Center and the Global Centers network
Competencies/Attributes
- University/College graduate degree required; post-graduate degree preferred
- Relevant education background in environmental sustainability or urban planning or entrepreneurship
- A motivated individual who is enthusiastic about working at an academic organization and is excited by research and learning
- A team-player who has the ability to work in a supportive and facilitative manner with a small yet growing team of CGCM
- An efficient individual with excellent organizational abilities
- Residency and relevant work experience in Mumbai required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Knowledge and experience in using MS Office. Additional knowledge of Excel, Adobe and Corel software desired
