Position: Project Officer (Education)

Qualifications

Post-graduate degree in any field

Preference will be provided to those possessing a degree in education, development management, social work, rural development, management or public administration.

At least 3 years of work experience in the development sector. Preference given to candidates possessing experience working directly in the education projects with the district administration.

Responsibilities

  • Get familiar and aware with all the initiatives that have been launched by the district administration in the field of education and take them forward
  • Carry out diagnostic study to understand the socio-economic conditions in mining affected villages and analyse the impact of existing government schemes
  • Analyse the services delivery mechanisms in the field of education and take initiatives with the district administration to fix the gaps of the education systems of the district
  • Conduct Gram Sabhas and PRA exercises in all mining affected villages in the district in order to prepare list of projects to be taken up under the DMF for better performance of the district on the indicators of education and integrate it into Annual Action Plans
  • Coordinate or combine the resources of educational institutions, social service organizations, personnel in educational institutions, or other agencies to enhance the educational delivery in the district.
  • Develop tools to address behavioral issues
  • Manage or coordinate the work with education department and or other staff members.
  • Facilitate the approval of the Annual Action Plans in the Managing / Executive Committee and Governing Council of DMF
  • Oversee the implementation of the approved projects, through regular field visits and raise flags at appropriate level if there is any case of any discrepancy
  • Promote community-based monitoring tools like Social Audit of projects executed under the DMF underlining educational practices and services
  • Documentation of initiatives, observations, recommendations, success stories, and impact at periodic intervals.
  • Operate in full coordination with the PMU Team, line departments and the verticals of Swaniti Initiative

  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently, articulate issues and recommend solutions
  • Proven ability to identify innovations and translate them into implementable practices
  • Competency in usage of IT tools including proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Polished oral and writing skills in English with effective documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate in Hindi is desirable
