Position: Consultant - Pilot of the ‘Conversation Starter Tool’

Organization: The Akanksha Foundation 

Location: Mumbai

Compensation: Upto Rs. 40,000 per month

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with logistics and planning prior to data collection – this will include identifying key stakeholders as per the defined sample frame, updating stakeholder contact details, defining the data collection plan and timeline.

• Attending training to orient data enumerators on the survey tool.

• Conduct a preliminary pilot of the survey along with other data enumerators. Share in a common forum any feedback on challenges with administration of the tool.

• Conduct data collection with parents using the prototype tool.

• Follow-up on data collection – Following up with other stakeholders (teachers, school leaders, students) for whom data collection is self-administered.

• Regularly update data collection trackers.

• Data entry & transcribing – this will include entering the data collected from parents into excel and transcribing any qualitative inputs

• Data cleaning & first-level review – this will include reviewing the excel sheet with data from teachers, school leaders and students for duplicates, errors etc.

• Assist with data analysis.

• Assist with report writing.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

• Proficient in using excel.

• Can communicate fluently in Hindi and Marathi.

• Can communicate in English.

• Has experience with data collection, analysis and report writing.

• Experience in the education sector is preferred.

• Flexible to travel

• Would be preferable if you own a computer/laptop with internet connectivity

TIME COMMITMENT

• This will be a two-month commitment. Tentatively between 15th December 2021 to 15th February 2022.

• May include working on few weekends

• The work will need you to travel to Akanksha schools in Mumbai and Pune.

• While not working from Akanksha schools, you can work from home
