Position: Health Promoter & IEC Officer
Organization: Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders
Main responsibilities and tasks:
- In collaboration with & Health Promoter & Community Engagement Manager, define, implement and Supervise the targeted outreach and community engagement activities in the areas of interest, by Assessing the COVID-19 situation across the states of India.
- In close cooperation with the target population, organize appropriate social, recreational and Cultural activities in the site which enhance awareness on Telemedicine
- Devise communications strategies, creating content, radio and video programme
- Write Press Release and document best practices and lessons learnt
- Represent and seek out opportunities to represent MSF at the stakeholder meetings and events to Promote the project.
- Promote a participatory approach (engagement of affected community) to site management And service provision across the site, making specific effort to engage excluded groups, women And girls in the site.
- Collect information on the needs and concerns of the hosted population, sharing with other Stakeholders for follow-up.
- Plan and facilitate the outreach meetings and events under the supervision of Community Engagement Manager.
- Ensure regular collaboration and coordination with the MSF clinical team, to guarantee that the Social engagement activities are contributing towards achieving the objectives of the Telemed project.
- Ensures effectively communicates the mission, vision, and values of MSF when engaging with the Communities and stakeholders.
- Attends regularly scheduled meetings to share information, brainstorm solutions, and coordinate Priorities to take the project forward.
- Provides regular written updates on activities and outputs as part of the communications reporting Structure.
- Contributes to the development of regular reports, press releases, and other advocacy or information Materials in collaboration with Community Engagement Manager.
- Contribute in the Preparation of community engagement strategy for telemedicine project.
- Ensures adjust the materials based on the community feedback and validate again with the team.
- Respect MSF branding guidelines and logo usage. Be consistent with the identity of the brand.
- Be aware that the consent form should include the effects of posting digital content, the fast-spreading
- Nature of it, and the fact that MSF has no control over it after posting. Make sure the person who signs
- Truly understands this. (This is in the case if we will use a third party to spread the message on Facebook, WhatsApp, messaging, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
University degree in any of the following areas: Social Work, Mass/Development Communications, Health Communications
Experience:
* Proven track of at least 2 years of working experience in the related area (of community based activities, community mobilization and community training)
* Experience in creating IEC Material, Photo Feature and Short video and Radio programme
* Experience in organizing, conducting and facilitation of the meetings, round tables, trainings and community mobilization events, experience in resource mobilization
Languages:
Fluency in English and Hindi. Knowledge of regional language of South India is an asset.
