Position: Junior Consultant

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct qualitative and research and analysis, such as literature reviews, sector reviews, interviews, questionnaires that will inform the knowledge creation and dissemination of inspirational examples, good practices, as well as understanding the barriers to implementation and articulating the drivers for change.

  • Support in the scoping, review and interpretation of quantitative analysis based on key methods of environmental accounting and industrial ecology and liaise with our data analysts to discuss results and extract key insights for our clients.

  • Turn the results into useful insights and recommendations, and work closely with clients to validate and refine results to trigger changes in knowledge, mindset and behaviours.

  • Writing convincing storylines and advice, backed with solid facts and arguments, summarising the project outcomes in inspiring reports.

  • Designing and delivering workshops for problem-solving and hands-on training on the circular economy.

  • Providing expert advice in external and internal meetings on potential transition pathways, and related circular strategies, activities and behaviours.

  • Co-writing and publishing white papers that demonstrate our thought leadership.

Requirements

  • You have a relevant academic degree in Business Administration, Industrial Ecology, Sustainability, or a similar field.
  • You have working experience in a commercial environment or proven affinity driving sustainability initiatives in the private sector.
  • You have excellent written and verbal skills in English and one additional language, Dutch is a plus but not a requirement.
  • You have proven research skills, during your academic studies and/or in a professional setting.
  • You are organised and structured in your approach and know how to take others along in your thought process. You also know how to deal with ambiguity and changing requirements.
  • You have aspiration to grow in advisory processes based upon business analytics, workshops, qualitative research, or a combination of these.
  • You have a passion for systemic change, circular economy, behavioural change and innovation.
  • You have experience in liaising with external parties, and are comfortable communicating directly with (senior) stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • You are a team player: a proactive, social and fun character, able to work in a team and flexible and adaptable in your style.
  • You are a self­-starter (proactive and independent) and you know how to prioritise different assignments and tasks to meet deadlines.

For this role, we are offering an initial 12-month contract for 32-40 hours per week. At the end of the contract, a further extension of the contract will be discussed. Salary and benefits are competitive within the not-for-profit sector.
