Your Roles & Responsibilities:

The incumbent will own the environmental performance of several businesses under GILAC. As part of the roles & responsibilities for this role, the incumbent will be responsible for below:-

• Understand the group’s larger sustainability ambitions, translate those into goals at the business level and cascade them down to unit goals and align all stakeholders on these goals
• Build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Work with businesses to understand challenges in achieving environmental targets and identify solutions to resolve these challenges, connect with vendors, evaluate feasibility and then help businesses undertake techno-commercial discussions on proposed solutions
• Monitor progress on achievement of environmental goals and report internally and externally as per the review cycles in the calendar
• Collate data and prepare responses to external disclosures such as the CDP, DJSI, statutory reporting, review scores from disclosures and identify areas of improvement and work on initiatives to continuously improve scores year on year
• Communicate environmental best practices internally as well as externally 
• Participate in capacity building, sustainability events and mentoring reportees
• Be a source of knowledge and critical thinking for the sustainability team and the organisation at large

Position Requirements:

Qualification: Master’s Degree in Engineering, Technology or Science

Experience: 9 to 12 years of work experience (post-graduation) in managing, evaluating and reporting on sustainability and working on environmental projects (water, energy, waste, etc)

Critical Skills:

Functional capabilities

• Strong technical domain knowledge of sustainability parameters and solutions – energy, water, waste, emissions
• Experience in sustainability reporting – statutory disclosures, CDP, DJSI, among others
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and a penchant for simplifying complex discourse
• Experience in techno-commercial evaluation of technologies and solutions
• Prior knowledge of monitoring platforms and experience in manufacturing is a bonus
