Duties and Responsibilities

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination of the project and managing following duties and responsibilities:

- Effective technical, financial, and operational management.
- Effective management of the project team.
- Mobilize and leverage financial and other resources as well as establish strong partnerships with the client and other stakeholders.

Managerial Responsibilities
- Supervise the team members and provide necessary guidance and coaching;
- Prepare annual work plan, including strategic initiatives to be undertaken
- Set annual performance parameters and learning objectives for the team, assess their performance and provide feedback;

Project Management

- Manage the grant allocations and country operating budget, maintain the financial integrity of the programme by ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures as well as UNDP rules and regulations, and ensure timely and effective use of resources.
- Report regularly on project implementation status, including annual monitoring reporting, financial reporting, audit, and update the relevant UNDP.
- Perform and coordinate administrative tasks (i.e., procurement, travel) adhering SOPs procurement rules and regulation, as required for project implementation.
- Authorise and manage project planning grants as required.
- Prepare annual project implementation reports (PIRs) and other progress reports, as required.
- Report regularly to the Global Coordinator and the UNDP.
- Exercise quality control over the development of the landscape strategies and grant proposals, and closely monitor the project implementation progress and results.
- Oversee grant projects and conduct periodic project monitoring field visits and provide technical and operational support and guidance to grantees as required.
- Plan and serve as secretary to the NSC meetings- Support and closely coordinate with the NSC and Technical Advisory Group where relevant, in the process of project proposal review, selection and approval, especially the initial appraisal of proposals and assessment of eligibility.

Resource Mobilization
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with stakeholders as well as promote the value, comparative advantages, and ensure visibility of the SGP.
- Assess interest and priorities of key donors and other development partners and develop/update and implement the resource mobilization and partnership strategy to mobilize resources from and develop partnerships with the government.

Experience: 8 - 10 years

Qualification: Post Graduate degree in Environmental fields or related fields
