Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
1. Fundraising
- Develop compelling and accurate funding proposals, concept notes, budgets, grant reports, financial reports, and other materials
- Support donor communications and relationship management e.g. by preparing detailed and timely meeting briefs, conducting relevant secondary research and organizing meetings on behalf of senior staff
- Identify new grant opportunities and RFPs in consultation with senior staff, and PxD’s Grants Management Coordinator.
- Work closely with PxD’s Grants Management Coordinator, to ensure best practice.
- Contribute to PxD’s tracking of its fundraising pipeline and management of new program development deliverables in Salesforce.
2. Partnership Management
- Lead coordination and collaboration with new and existing partner organizations along the agricultural value chain to meet PxD’s objectives
- Actively identify potential partnership opportunities, define scope of partnerships with PxD, develop partnership proposals, and maintain documentation.
3. New Program Management
- Lead the implementation of one or more new programs, including the development of work plans, tracking progress, designing and launching new services to farmers, implementing M&E activities and improvements to existing systems, managing focus group discussions and other data collection activities, and writing reports.
- Directly supervise new program staff (Research Associates, Program Associates, Field Staff, Interns), and lead training and onboarding of new/incoming program staff – making use of PxD’s systems, processes and policies.
- Work with relevant researchers and research affiliates to ensure that new programs adhere to policies, procedures, and timelines.
- Supervise and monitor implementation of value chain activities with a focus on improving smallholder access to relevant information, products and services for the enhancement of crop yields and incomes.
- Develop the theory of change for new programs, and set frameworks and manage delivery against these frameworks including budgeting, implementation, outcomes tracking, etc.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrable work experience in a multi-faceted role, working with cross-functional teams and multiple partners.
- Self-starter, ability to handle multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong writing and oral communication skills in English, with attention to detail and advanced writing and presentation skills.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.
- Previous grant writing and partnerships experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in conducting agricultural value chain assessments is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to program sites in India (up to 40%, subject to Covid-19 guidelines)
- Previous experience in working with rural enterprises, farmer producer organizations (FPOs), micro-finance institutions (MFIs), etc. is encouraged, as is experience working with international donor organizations.
