What you’ll do:
Human Resources & Organisational Culture (essential)
● Develop, socialise and sustain processes to recruit, onboard, evaluate and retain team members. These processes include but are not limited to, KPI mapping, appraisal cycles, inductions, regular values check-ins, conflict resolution, individual personal development plans, mental health and wellbeing, employee recognition and rewards, exit interviews and performance improvement plans
● Design and implement a Learning & Development framework for all verticals to promote individual and team capacity building
● Champion our organisational values, rituals and norms to strengthen safe, inclusive spaces that ensure team members feel valued: [list them here or link the framework]
● Develop and implement strategies to increase Diversity & Inclusion within the organisation
● Ensure regular pulse-checks around employee wellbeing and performance, keeping leadership informed and proactively recommending solutions to maintain a transparent and supportive culture
● Manage and improve upon existing HR systems (knowledge of Freshteam is a plus!)
● Keep abreast of industry knowledge and trends by participating in conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining professional networks
● Create and/or update policies (Equal Opportunity Policy, Remote Working Policy, Covid Policy, Child Protection Policy, POSH, etc), procedures, and guidelines as needed
● Function as primary liaison to internal committees and working groups
Finance (essential)
● Work closely with the Finance team and administering the payments and promotions of the existing employees)
● Be accountable for reviewing, monitoring and managing budgets
● Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
● Build knowledge around international fundings, compliance and regulations
● Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements, advise management on needed actions to remain compliant
Legal (desirable)
● Have negotiation and drafting skills and legal sense to deal with multiple teams
● Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues
● Communicate and negotiate with external parties (partners, regulators, public authority etc), creating relations of trust
● Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights
● Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization
Who you are:
● Have recognized undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline
● A minimum of 5-6 years of HR and/or Finance experience in the above areas, particularly compensation, financial reporting, recruitment, benefits, training, etc
● Passionate about gender equity, women empowerment or menstrual health
● Thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures, and knowledge of State regulations
● Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint required. Understanding of remote tools like - Slack, Zoom, Freshteam, Skype, Google Hangouts etc
● An instinctive self-starter and problem solver who can quickly identify opportunities and make the most of them
● An exceptional communicator with an ability to drive accountability in remote teams
● Empathetic, respectful and grounded with a strong understanding of the role organisation culture plays in motivating and retaining teams
● Mix of professional experience as in-house counsel within the organisation and legal counsel with external stakeholders would be a bonus
● Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies
● Highly organized and resourceful, with an ability to drive focus, clarity and prioritization
● Ability to lead meetings and presentations, and engage with all team members with tact and diplomacy
● Must demonstrate values such as Trust, Respect, Empathy, Ownership, Scale with Impact, and Breaking the Silence
● Fluent in spoken and written English. Fluency in Hindi is a bonus
