Role of Network Accelerator:

• As a new intervention, ISD is set to launch the “Sarvodaya Champions” initiative in July ‘21- the idea is to build local political movements at an assembly constituency level, to dive deep in a few areas of India, to understand, explore and better the way politics and democracy are experienced by citizens there.
• At its core, we aim to bring sarvodaya ( upliftment of all) at a district level through collective social and political action.
• We plan to begin with three geographies in 2021 and slowly scale to ten geographies in the next four years.
• This is a long term intervention where we will identify a socially and politically active leader, called Sarvodaya Champion in a certain geographical area.
• Sarvodaya Champion will enable mass socio-political movements in these regions and make these areas a bright spot model for other parts of the countries.
• We will create partnerships with grassroot organizations, last mile service delivery organizations and citizenship awareness building organizations, to activate strong social, political and rights based movements in these regions.
• Sarvodaya Champions will build strong socio-political movements in their constituency and eventually aim to contest MLA elections within 3-5 years. They also enable 100 local leaders to contest in local elections at a village or city level.
• As an organisation ISD wants to build a strong team while ensuring team’s personal growth.
• At this point, we need someone who is ready to commit 4-5 years in this role, to build the institution.
• Your role as Network Accelerator, is to lead intervention together and and work on

Job Description: Network Accelerator:
● Set parameters and identify the geographies where the intervention will begin
● Travel, spend time with local leaders and identify Sarvodaya Champions
● Create a strategy for collective action in the constituency
● Build a coalition of organizations and lead that collective towards local social, economic
and political action
● Support Sarvodaya Champions in their role and enable their personal and political
growth
● Enable Sarvodaya Champion and their teams to nurture atleast 100 local grassroots
leaders in their constituencies
● Work with program team to inform the curriculum in our leadership program as per the
learning from the ground around the need of upcoming political leaders

Qualifications and Skills:

● Experience in on ground politics, community mobilization and holding collaborations
● You will work with Sarvodaya Champions who align with different political parties. It is of
utmost importance that you are able to work with them equally well, irrespective of your
personal political leanings. ISD is a nonpartisan organization and works with people from
multiple parties.
● 8-10 years of full-time professional experience
● Around 2 years of experience with grassroots community or rights based organisation
● Political knowledge and interest in democractic processes strongly preferred
● Extensive experience in small group and large group facilitation, focused on leadership
development and skill building
● Strong communication skills in English & Hindi, one more Indian language will be an
added benefit
● Attention to detail, process orientation and working in uncertainty
● Conscientious, disciplined, committed to rigor in all aspects of work
● Entrepreneurial, frugal with the ability to give and receive feedback
● Ability and willingness to work with people from across the political spectrum
Location: Based in New Delhi

Compensation: Remuneration will be based on competency and we will be building ISD
together.

Salary range for this role will be 11-13 lakhs per annum to begin with.
