Role:
We are looking for the next great person to join our team. The Finance and Admin Officer will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support across our programmes and entities, maintaining and strengthening our internal operating systems, and facilitating smooth day-to-day operations within a remote organisation. This person will work cross-functionally, supporting projects and processes across Wedu and widely engaging with staff in each impact unit. The Officer will be involved with the coordination and implementation of office procedures and have a high level of integrity and commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
Skills:
The ideal candidate will be extremely organized and a quick learner, with strong English language 1 and computer skills.
We are a small team and a willingness to take on different projects as needed is essential. Creativity and critical thinking skills are also very important.
Overall, the Finance and Admin Officer will split their time between finance support (40%), administrative support (40%), and knowledge management (20%). In particular,
The Officer will:
● Process invoices, coordinate payments, and ensure organisation-wide compliance with financial and procurement processes
● Liaise with accountants in the UK, Thailand, and Cambodia to ensure frictionless and timely accounting and reporting, and support annual audit processes as required
● Support directors and programme managers in preparing and monitoring budgets and cash-flow forecasts
● Coordinate organisation-wide knowledge management systems and maintain records and databases for HR, fundraising, and operations
● Provide administrative support to the Executive Director with scheduling, filing, and research, and other projects as-needed

Qualifications & Experience
● Demonstrated commitment to gender equity and women’s leadership
● At least 3 years of financial and/or administrative experience, ideally for an I/NGO or startup
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
● Demonstrated track record with establishing, maintaining, and improving systems
● Experience with bookkeeping/ accounting for a small organisation and familiarity with accounting principles and processes
● English proficiency (spoken and written) is required

● Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and a commitment to consistently delivering excellent quality work
● Methodical, highly organised, and able to prioritise
● Able to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality
● Independent, self-starter with proven ability to work autonomously as part of a geographically distributed team
● Propensity to take responsibility and initiative
● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in a remote, multicultural environment
Preferred
● Working knowledge of Salesforce and xero
● Familiarity with GDPR regulations
● Experience in a remote-first organisation
