Job-Specific Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the India Country Director of the Mittal Institute (MI), the Program Coordinator will be responsible for the following broad roles:
- Leading in development of events, conferences, seminars and other programs, related to the Institute’s programs in India; Assisting in planning and execution of logistics to ensure successful implementation of programming.
- Taking the lead in managing operations for the India Fellows program which may include manging the application process and review, managing all travel and orientation logistics and assisting with follow-up on invoices and any costs related to the program.
- Coordinating and providing high-level logistical and administrative support for MI projects across India both to faculty and their research teams from Harvard and other MI staff;
- Liaising with various stakeholders – including faculty, research assistants, Harvard administrators, local vendors etc – to ensure support is provided as needed;
- Supporting the India team to leverage growth and connecting with the larger goals of the Institute in India
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of work experience handling administrative office work in a non-profit setting.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Experience in an academic setting strongly preferred.
- Must possess strong English and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be able to multi-task in a small team, with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Positive and outgoing attitude.
- Experience with Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office, Adobe In Design, and knowledge of WordPress preferred.
- The candidate should be flexible to work with colleagues in different time zones
- Customer service orientation with excellent organizational, logistical, and time management capabilities.
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and follow-through are essential, along with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work some nights and weekends required.
