Impact Program Associate Job Description
The Impact Program Associate will contribute to the development of the Wharton Social Impact Initiative’s experiential learning opportunities for Penn, Wharton, and other students. The Impact Program Associate should be passionate about impact and student experiential education, and bring energy and creativity to the role.
This opportunity is ideal for early career professionals who want experience in social impact programming, including impact investing education, social entrepreneurship, and project design, management, and execution. The position is well suited to those planning to pursue graduate level studies (MA, MBA, MPP) or looking to go on to a long-term career in impact investing, purpose-driven business, educational administration, consulting, or other roles integrating business, impact, and education.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collaborating with other members of WSII team on program work including:
Advising and supervising student team in impact investing programs and competitions, including giving feedback on deliverables, assisting with presentation/pitch preparation, and more;
Assisting with execution of student programs in impact consulting and evaluation, including client application evaluation, deliverable review and feedback, and more;
Leading or assisting in program design and evolution, including collecting, analyzing, and responding to program feedback
Organizing and hosting events (currently virtual, but shifting to in person when safe to do so)
Assisting with student communications related to WSII programs, including writing news stories and blog posts, and email blasts
Skills, interests, and experience:
experience, education, and Interest in impact investing, purpose-driven business, ESG investing, corporate social responsibility, private equity/venture capital, gender and racial equity investing, and/or non-profit leadership
Experience, education, and/or Interest in social impact, finance, early stage investing, management consulting, program management, and/or curriculum development
High proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Creative problem solving skills, team orientation, conscientiousness, and eagerness to learn new topics and skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
