Strategic Communications Manager

ORF is looking for a Communications Manager to be based out of our New Delhi office. The Communications Manager will work closely with the Communications Team to ensure that all communications activities are integrated across ORF’s programmes, platforms and research events. Along with the Communications team, s/he will also liaise with the publications and forums teams on a regular basis.

The Communications Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day tasks including social media content development across ORF’s social media channels, track and monitor analytics, and respond to media queries if and when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the communications team to support the development of content for social media channels;
  • Support event planning and develop communications strategy for ORF platforms and other research events;
  • Coordinate and execute e-mail campaigns while ensuring uniformity of content/messaging across all communications channels.
  • Monitor analytics and create reports detailing the successes and failures of communications campaigns and strategies
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, social media regulations and make recommendations for adjustments to communications strategies and practices
  • Support the design efforts for organizational materials including annual reports, and newsletters;
  • Respond to media requests in a timely manner.

Experience and Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, International Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, or other relevant field, with a minimum 1 year of relevant experience in outreach and communications work;
  • Basic knowledge and interest in international relations, international development, economic policy and/or public policy;
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and juggle multiple tasks;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Fluency in Hindi and other regional languages will be a bonus, though not necessary to meet the recruitment criteria.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work efficiently and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to use standard technology packages such as Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite;
