IIT Bombay is managing the Indian Culture Project (www.indianculture.gov.in) on behalf of Ministry of Culture. We are seeking to recruit some Research Assistants. Selected candidates will be employed by the IIT Bombay project on an annual contract which can be renewed based on need and performance.
Job Profile: Research Assistant
The role of the RA will include researching in and writing on different facets of the rich tangible and intangible cultural heritage of India. Excellent writing skills in English are a pre-requisite for this position. An ability to write well in Hindi will be an asset.
Job Requirements:
The selected candidate will have a keen interest in Indian culture. An above average knowledge of at least 2 of the following - history, built heritage, art history, classical and/or folk music, classical and/or folk dance, folk art, rare books, museums and artefacts, festivals and traditions, archaeology.
Personal traits required are an ability to work hard and do deep research. It is necessary to have excellent communication and presentation skills (including both creating presentations as well as presenting when required). Successful candidates are likely to have an active and agile mind, and enthusiasm to read widely and learn.
Eligibility: At least a Post-Graduate degree. A background in History is preferred but not essential. The selected candidates will be well versed in and very interested in cultural history of India
Remuneration: Will depend on qualifications and experience and will range from INR 2.5 to 5 LPA

Selection Process
CV based shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates may be asked to submit a short written assignment. Final selection will be done basis at least 2 rounds of interviews.
