Position Title: Research Associate
Location: Gandhinagar
Duration of Position: Eleven months, initially with the possibility of extension

Brief on the Organization:
Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is a Charitable Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act and a Society registered under Societies Act. IIPHG is actively involved in research activities in the field of Public Health. IIPHG aims to strengthen the overall health system in the country through education, training,
research and advocacy/policy initiative.

Project Brief:
Stunting is the result of a range of drivers – biological, behavioural, social, environmental, and socio-cultural. Research has traditionally operationalized these drivers as individual and household-level risk factors and assessed their association with stunting outcomes – either individually or in additive combination. This three countries project named GRF Stunting Hub is mainly focused on the whole child approach which includes Physical Child – from the deep biology to pathogens and their interactions.
Home Environment from diets across the first 1000 days; to behavioural messaging regarding WASH to purchasing behaviour regarding snack foods
Educational environment: cognition to caregiving behaviours
Wider Food environment: accessibility, affordability, availability
This project is funded by GCRF, UK based funding agency. It is implemented in three countries namely India, Indonesia and Senegal. In Indi two agencies National Institute of Nutrition and IIPHG are the implementing partners.

Who should apply?

1. Doctoral degree in Public Health or Master’s Degree in Public Health, Medical Graduates (MBBS/AYUSH) with significant experience in Public Health Nutrition
2. Working knowledge of Gujarati language
3. Minimum of five years of work experience in the field of Public Health
4. Minimum five publications in peer-reviewed journals
5. Willingness to travel extensively in Gujarat

Annual Salary (CTC) will be up to Rs. 7,20,000, salary will be commensurate with the available skills and fitment
of the incumbent as per the selection process.
