Kinship for Humanitarian Social and Holistic Intervention in India (KHUSHII) is an independent not-for-profit organization registered under the Societies Registration Act. Founded in 2003 by Cricket legend Mr. Kapil Dev, KHUSHII is a self-implementing organization. KHUSHII’s distinctive goal is to empower women and children from poor and marginalized communities leading to improved life of dignity through Education, Economic Empowerment and better health facilities. Till now, KHUSHII has impacted more than 1.5 million lives in their fight against poverty and social neglect. KHUSHII is currently delivering well planned and comprehensive projects in education, skill development & livelihood, health & nutrition, and sanitation in 10 states of India.
Purpose of the job
Communication is the function in the business responsible for the implementation of communications both internally and externally. The purpose of this job is to develop a Branding Guideline and uniform “look & feel” for all aspects of the Khushii brand and communication. Also to develop and share insights from the sector, lead campaigns for fundraising and awareness, and effectively communicate with KHUSHII's donors and beneficiaries.
Job Description
Duties and responsibilities
1. Generating and Communicating Insightful Content
- Research, plan, and draft content for reports, white papers, blogs, events, press releases, and policy submissions, working with internal and external research partners.
- Systematically track NGO and CSR related policy and regulatory developments and inform the organization’s CEO and Board, identifying opportunities to contribute to policy discussions.
- Develop strategies to best package and communicate our Project related work for maximum effect.
- Provide briefings for Senior Management and the Board.
2. Building Relationships to Influence
- Formulation of a business-wide communication strategy that applies form the top-down; all the way from the CEO and other top executive leaders within the business.
- Identify, build, and maintain a network of stakeholders and contacts across the Government, Media, Corporate, and NGO world.
- Attend, gather insight from, other NGO sector events
- Represent KHUSHII in meetings/events with external clients, businesses, Government officials, and other stakeholders.
- Work with relevant directors and teams to create and implement a marketing plan for the next 12 months
- Ensure effective external communications with members and key stakeholders
- Design and implement social media and marketing campaigns for the NGO via Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
3. Content creation
- Quarterly Newsletter, Annual report, Success stories, pitch proposals, concept notes, PPTs, Blogs
- Coordination: photoshoot of all schools, film making
- Social media management – daily management, content planning, posting, and expansion
- Website management - daily management, content updates, designing & layout
- Creative posts for all A and top B category corporate clients
- Devising impactful employee engagement activities through working with Corporate Partnership team
- Support the events team in the content generation for online marketing and promotions
4. Branding & Advocacy
- Have contacts with communication companies to outsource work and with the media/influencers to amplify KHUSHII's messages
- Renew accreditations/affiliations from the previous year
- Accreditation/ affiliation with external agencies
- Award applications
- Project visit: One in two months to come up with impact stories
- Organize research report dissemination workshop with program and documentation team (as per the requirement)
5. Individual donor servicing
- Devising donor retention strategy through digital communication - Email campaigns+ SMS
- Creating acquisition data through digital communication.
6. Digital Fundraising
- To lead successfully online campaigns with demonstrable ROI, preferably fundraising but traffic generation ok too. Expertise in managing ROI for digital campaigns across all online and offline media.
- Effectively communicate with KHUSHII’s donors & beneficiaries.
- Devise digital fundraising campaigns on crowdfunding platforms.
- Support teams via research for innovative solutions to improve the efficiency of programs.
- Generate leads for various teams to support fundraising
- Organizing fundraiser events
