Center Manager

WeLive Foundation is an aftercare start-up operating out of Bangalore. WeLive Foundation provides a residential support program of 3-5 years for care leavers that allows them to lead independent and fulfilling lives in the future.

Position: Centre Mentor, WeLive Foundation

Location: Bangalore

Role:

  • - Build and maintain a healthy caring community among care leavers (CLs)
  • - Build and sustain open channels of communication with the care leavers
  • - Attend to the care leaver's needs with love and care
  • - Provide an environment in which care leavers feel nurtured and cared for
  • - Provide guidance to CLs in case they face any challenges
  • - Address any grievances raised by the CLs
  • - Coordinate any group counseling/mentoring sessions at the center
  • - Ensure that care leavers are attending their classes on time and regularly
  • - Supervision and Guidance of people involved in the center - Anna and akka or any other service provider
  • - Attend to any health issues raised by the care leavers
  • - Responsible for ensuring the hygiene standards of all CLs (especially in view of COVID)
  • - Completes necessary administrative tasks such as record keeping, report writing, and documentation with respect to the center
  • - Maintain the database/information regarding all the care leavers
  • - Escalate issues, if any, to the colleagues in charge
  • - Monitor any deviant behavior among care leavers and report the same

Experience:
An ideal candidate

  • - Must have experience working with children leaving childcare institutions/ Young adults
  • - Must have experience working with children/young adults in difficult circumstances
  • - Must have experience dealing and resolving problems with stakeholders at the local level - police, civic authorities
  • - Will preferably have knowledge of the childcare ecosystem

Soft Skills:

  • - Empathy and Patience
  • - Good communication skills
  • - Ability to listen to and establish a rapport with young people
  • - Approachable and available to all young people

Hard skills:
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel)

General:
The centre mentor’s role is a very mission-critical role at WeLive Foundation. This will mandatorily be a residential role. The selected candidate will stay in the same building/next door as that of the young people and be accessible to them always. They are expected to go beyond the call of duty and extend work hours in cases of emergency and be available whenever required, which will cover emergency situations.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and the candidate’s ability to work with care leavers
