Integrated Rural Development
The Foundation's integrated rural development program called Parivartan envisages structured, community-led interventions towards comprehensive social and environmental development of rural clusters by strengthening rural economies while simultaneously restoring the ecology. The Foundation facilitates the development of a supportive environment to facilitate human-environment equilibrium through capacity building, multi-sectoral partnerships and knowledge support. The program is currently underway in Velhe taluka of Pune district in Maharashtra.

Reports To: Program Manager (Integrated Rural Development Program)

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, prepare and implement village specific micro-plans for 5 project villages
• Facilitate the process of information collection through participatory biodiversity mapping, community bio-registers, etc.
• Promote integrated watershed development and sustainable agriculture projects in the targeted areas
• Collaborate with resource partners and government departments to converge existing schemes for the target groups
• Maximize the capacity of Village Development Committee, SHGs, Youth groups, and Panchayati Raj Institutions
• Ensure smooth implementation of PARIVARTAN program with the active participation of stakeholders like Gram Sabha/Gram-panchayat and other village level institutions
• Fulfill any other project requirement, as necessary

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Qualification:

• Master's in Environmental Science or other relevant disciplines with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience

OR

• The requirement of advanced academic degrees may be relaxed in case of exceptional candidates with over 5 years of relevant work experience in rural development in the State of Maharashtra.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in rural development  
Language: Fluency in Marathi (written & verbal), Good writing skills in English

Skills:

• Knowledge of riding a 2-wheeler. Applicant should have her/his own vehicle and authorized driving license
• Familiarity with electronic tools like laptop and smartphones
• Experience in using MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal direct supervision while being a committed team player
• Commitment and passion for social causes

Please note: The candidate would be required to stay in the program villages 

Duration: 1 Year on Contract Basis (Contract renewable subject to performance)
